Who We Are...?
The East Kilbride Eagles is a Non-Profit Making Organisation run entirely by VOLUNTEER parents…
Should you become involved with The Club in any way –whether as a helper
or simply just as a parent of a new Player, please always respect that
The Club’s Committee are giving a great deal of their
time and effort in order for our Players to enjoy a
well organised, healthy and positive
experience in Sport.
CLUB HISTORY
Back in 1997, The East Kilbride Eagles Roller Hockey Club
was born of sheer passion and demand for inline skating and Roller Hockey
in an area where suitable and structured training and games was not formerly available.
Irene Park and Debbie Barrow founded the club in this year with the simple motive of providing their
own eager sons, and other interested players in the area, with just what they wanted and needed… to pursue their passion! Word spread quickly with both new
and experienced players, of all ages, coming forward to join the club…
...Rapidly growing into the established and respected club that you see today.

Rather than panic... PASS
players must be trained to think about skating and stickhandling into open space first, then make a pass to create opportunity instead of passing off due to pressure. Encourage the understanding of Space & Time with players continually. Teach players to test their skills deep in the offensive zone-where a turnover would require the opposition to beat some of your teammates -as well to break the puck out. In practice, keep it simple and do not develop a fancy game.
"Shots On Goal ..." ...Are Key.
When you work the puck into the offensive zone, have the mind set to set up a solid shot on goal. That is the ultimate goal with any offensive play. Several goals are scored in a game when defenders aren't expecting a shot. A shot on goal is never a bad play! In practice, use your defense as a screen and shoot the puck more. You will be surprised at the results. Also, if you angle the play away from the middle, you will find space. With space, you earn extra time to make decisions for the setup to shoot the puck or pass to setup a teammate's shot on goal.
